Schaefer Portrait Challenge 2012

Kuana Torres Kahele performs at the McCoy Studio Theater/
Kahele was born on the slopes of Mauna Kea in Hilo and began composing, arranging and playing traditional Hawaiian music at an early age. In 1995 with Kehau Tamure, Kuana formed the multi-award winning duo, Na Palapalai, who earned critical acclaim for reviving Hawaiian classics as well as for original compositions. An Intimate Evening of Jazz

Phil’s experience with David Benoit and his own group provide the perfect counterpoint for Bill’s innovative style. A guest appearance by the silken-voiced Angela Benoit makes this a must-see show.
