Easter Weekend Events on Maui: The Celebration of the Arts & Ag Festival 2010

by amauiblog on April 1, 2010

There are many events happening on Maui this Easter weekend. Maui residents and visitors have a lot to choose from.  I would like to recommend two that I think you would enjoy the most. These two events will enable you to experience  Malama Maui at its best:  the CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS happening in Kapalua and the AG FESTIVAL at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu.

Live entertainment music will be performed by Vaihi, Waipuna, Ulalena and Lono.

AG FESTIVAL  2010

April 3, 2010 – Maui Tropical Plantation

The Ag Festival is Maui’s prime event to raise awareness about the Maui agriculture.  The entire industry, its allies, and supporters come together on the luau grounds of Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapu to share what each group does for the collective good of agriculture in the County, and to showcase agriculture’s vital role in the economy, environment, and lifestyle of Maui.  Free and open to the general public from 9 AM to 4 PM.   Festival highlights include: Ag Demonstrations and Activities, Ask the Farm Dcotor, Entertainment, Grown on Maui Farmer’s Market, Health and Wellness, Keki Zone, Literary Resources,  Paniolo Hall of Fame, Livestock, Taste Education  and Victory Farm.

There is a fee to join the Taste Education.  There you will be able to meet the local chefs, farmers and ranchers who are creating menus that matter, and enjoy tastings served by 15 restaurants.  Tickets can be purchased at www.mauicountyfarmbureau.org.

The Maui Visitors Bureau Facebook has listed this event.  If you are planning to go the Ag Festival 2010, I encourage you to RSVP at VisitMaui Page so we know you are coming. Maybe we can meet there and have fun together.

Once I learned that traditional Hawaiian tattoo artists will be on hand doing live demos, I can’t stop thinking about getting one!
