New App Highlights Maui’s Best Beaches

Maui's Best Beaches

Here is another helpful app for our Maui fans! It truly is no secret that Maui has some of the best beaches in the world.  Some are easy to get to and others, well, not so much. This guide, by Douglas Peebles, will help you find and enjoy more than 50 of the best of them.

Each entry has several beautiful photos, links to maps, driving directions, and info on what makes each location special. You can search by what is close to you, or by what activity you are looking for.

You can pick sites that are good for picnics, or see which beaches have restrooms or lifeguards. It is all designed to make your day at a beach on the “Magic Isle” easier, exciting and fun.

You can access it while in Maui to plan your day. You can use it from wherever you are to map out your vacation, or you can just run the slide show of 250 photos and dream about planning your special trip! Cost is $1.99.

Another offering (cost is also $1.99), “Seeing Maui”, is a coffee table style photo book on your iPhone. Douglas Peebles has done 50 photo books on Hawaii including “Maui”, “Visual Maui” and “From the Skies Of Paradise”.

He has selected the best Maui images for this app. With 360 images, there are several photos for each entry. Doug tells me that this is actually more photos than in any of the coffee table books, at 1/10th the cost, and best of all, it weighs nothing! Further, it is also possible to search by activity or area, and there are suggestions on when is the best time to visit.

Douglas Peebles, one of Hawaii’s most respected and well-known photographers, has published 50 photo books on Hawaii including “Visual Maui”, “Maui Images of the Valley Island”, and “From the Skies Of Paradise” (a series of five aerial photo books of the various Hawaiian Islands).

Enjoy!
