Attracting athletes from around the world, two amazing races will soon occur from the shores of Molokai to the shores of Oahu.

Departing from Hale O Lono Harbor, Molokai, top athletes will paddle the approximately 41 miles across the Kaiwi Channel to reach Fort DeRussy Beach Park on Oahu during two different races – Na Wahine o Ke Kai and Molokai Hoe. Each race is a test of strength, ability and endurance which thousand of participants enter each year.
The first race is the women’s outrigger canoe race, Na Wahine o Ke Kai, which occurs on Sunday, September 23rd, departing from Hale O Lono Harbor at 8am. The women’s race has been occurring annually since 1979, except for 1980 when it was cancelled due to high surf.
The next race is the men’s outrigger canoe race, Molokai Hoe, held on Sunday, October 7th, starting at 8am from Hale O Lono Harbor. The Molokai Hoe first began in 1952.
Results for each of the races will be posted on the race websites so be sure to check the sites and see these amazing athletes!
