Kahele was born on the slopes of Mauna Kea in Hilo and began composing, arranging and playing traditional Hawaiian music at an early age. In 1995 with Kehau Tamure, Kuana formed the multi-award winning duo, Na Palapalai, who earned critical acclaim for reviving Hawaiian classics as well as for original compositions. Bill’s extensive resume includes work with Sarah Vaughan, Bud Shank, and even Frank Zappa! Phil’s experience with David Benoit and his own group provide the perfect counterpoint for Bill’s innovative style. A guest appearance by the silken-voiced Angela Benoit makes this a must-see show.
